Last month we got to shoot the beautiful wedding of Ekaterina + Eric, while working with one of our vendor favs, Jen with Your Wedding by Jen. We don’t have footage to post just yet, but we wanted to give Jen props for putting together a great day! She just wrote about this wedding on her blog, and bragged about all the great vendors that made it possible. ;) She even threw in some non-pro pics, including the one below. If you look closely, you’ll see Annette at the top of the steps hiding behind the camera and video light. If you look even closer, you’ll see my arms holding my camera and Glidecam at the right edge of the pic. Thanks for at least giving our “gear” some love, Jen, even though you cut my wife’s face and almost all of me out of the photo, haha! ;)
Last summer my friend Jason and I shot John + Amy’s outdoor wedding up in Columbus. There was such a great spirit about the whole event — it was all about family, friends, and of course, Amy’s love of children! In fact, when they listed Sara McLaughlin as one of their favorite artists, I decided to use one of her songs from a children’s movie — which also happened to be one of my favorite stories as a kid — Charlotte’s Web!
The song is called Ordinary Miracle. I love the way this song fits this trailer, because I think it describes love + marriage so well. We’re so used to weddings that they become “ordinary” — when in fact the relationship at hand is a beautiful miracle that God has brought about! And I think this is a great description of the relationship you’ll see here between John + Amy…
Their story is a story of friendship — a couple of real-life high school sweethearts! Megan + Chris are a super sweet couple, and such a pleasure to work with from the moment we met. They were married on April 18, 2009. It turned out to be a beautiful day, and we enjoyed getting our first chance to work with Brenda + Ben of Pottinger Photography.

We spent a few hours cruising around Cincinnati with Brooke + Chris back on their cold January wedding day. We got some fun, incredible footage as usual with Kortnee + Ted (Kortnee Kate Photography) running the show, and here’s just a short sample from their wedding day.
After operating as 28Twenty Productions for the past four years, we’ve decided to make a slight cosmetic change to our name. While we don’t want to get away from our name, or its meaning, we do want to clarify and simplify who we are by the way our name is written. So phonetically, you’ll still call us 28Twenty. But in print, we’re now 28:20 films. We feel that “films” is more representative of the style of work we produce. We’re also anxious to produce more films that extend beyond just weddings, as well, and we’re excited to share some of those things with you in the near future.

As with every family, there are a number of milestone moments that you stop and celebrate. They cause you to realize how much your family has grown, how things have changed, and of course, to contemplate the path ahead. This past week for the Tates, we celebrated as our oldest son, Isaiah, graduated from kindergarten! Yes, there will definitely be some bigger and more significant achievements than this, but at the same time, our firstborn has finished his first year of school! That’s just crazy to us! And so here’s a few photos to mark this occasion and share our family’s journey with you!
Our first wedding of 2009 was on January 17. It was a beautiful day — a little frigid, but we had fun all over town shooting this great couple along with Kortnee + Ted of Simply Timeless. You’ll instantly notice what a beautiful couple Brooke + Chris are, but what impresses me so much about them is what genuinely great people they are — extremely caring, fun, and grounded! They are obviously surrounded by great family and friends — it was especially fun for me to see and hear all these loved ones talking about the couple during their Friday night rehearsal dinner at the Waterfront (a significant spot if you listen to their story).
